Are you affected by diverticulitis? Would you be interested in helping to shape the treatment and support that is available for those who have diverticulitis?
The DAMASCUS study aims at improving the outcomes for those who suffer from diverticulitis. Diverticulitis is a condition that is very common and can often be painful and affects a large number of patients. At present, treatments and outcomes for this disease can vary considerably across the UK and the World.
Although medical practitioners can look at best practice in terms of treatment, it is only the patients who can explain what it feels like to experience the condition, therefore this study day aims to find out what treatment goals/outcomes are important to YOU as the patient.
The patient day will be a very informal day where members of the study team will record your views and answers as part of the study. You will be split into groups and asked to consider the following:
- Symptoms of diverticulitis
- Consequences of diverticulitis
- Acceptable treatments
- Research goals from a patient’s perspective
